antediluvian, juncture

I helped Peng with procuring furniture Thursday last week. As a result I got some new stuff:

A new (or rather, newer) bed care of Peng who conferred me her old bed. I finally got rid of my grandfather's antediluvian, grungy, slightly smelly bed that had this stain that was ... well, I don't even want to think what it was. My new bed comes with a frame with rollers which, together with the box spring brings its total height to way past my knee. I keep thinking I'd fall off and break my neck. (Yes, I did fall off the top bunk a double decker bed once when I was little. I remember it being not so much fun.) I'd like to be able to fall into bed and not climb a mountain into one. Additionally, I don't quite get bed frames. What exactly is their use? To me it just makes more space for junk, dust, and monsters to hide in. On the other hand, the new bed is much softer and more comfortable than my old one. I think my back also feels better after a night's sleep.

I got a new weight/workout bench from Olympia Sports in Watertown. I've been threatening to buy one for such a long time and having a U-Haul van available afforded me a juncture to finally do something about it. It can be a flat bench or a slant board. It also has this thing for the legs that I still haven't figured out how to use. On the downside it was a bitch to assemble and the user's manual only shows you how to assemble it and not actually use it.

At the end of the day we ate dinner at Friendly's. It's always a pleasure to eat there -- huge portions, tons of fat and calories, and an amicable staff. I am glad to report that my stomach is fine with ice cream. So people may offer me some, if they are so inclined, without repercussions.

I was also able to inflict some of my music on Peng and Rick. I played some Hidria Spacefolk, Zao and The Necks, and I think they were well received, not that they had any particular say in the choice of music anyway as long as I was driving ;). I admit it, I love being a bully sometimes.
