I cooked sinigang today. It will delight a couple people to know that I did not add carrots nor papaya this time ;). I was able to pass by Super 88 in Allston last friday and got the necessary ingredients: chopped pork ribs (the ones with the white cartilage), tomatoes, green beans and baby bok choy. It's been a while since I had some. Twas yummy.

Both my watches that I bought in August last year are either dead or dying, so I took them to Watch World in the Cambridgeside Galleria. My Fossil Blue simply needed a battery change, which they did for free. My Freestyle, however, needs to get sent back to the manufacturer. The Indiglo light doesn't work anymore and parts of the LCD display disappear now and then. Freestyle supposedly has a 10-year warranty on this thing, which is neat, but the hassle of sending it and my having to cover the shipping charges causes me to become a bit incensed.

I also went to Harvard Square, specifically to Twisted Village where I found Schizotrope - The Life and Death of Marie Zorn. It features Richard Pinhas, who will be playing a solo set at NEARfest 2 weeks from now. After a cursory listen I must say I'm not impressed. You basically got some signature Pinhas guitar soundscapes in the background over some guy rambling on in French. I quit listening after a couple of tracks. I faired better at Planet Records where I got Gordian Knot - Emergent and Tin Hat Trio - Helium. Both sounded good after one listen.

now playing: Bjork - Post
