anodyne, hebetude, peregrination, rapacious

A number of us from the lab went deep-sea fishing today today. I had to get up at the ungodly hour of 5 am as we had to be at the docks by 7:30 am. It was roughly an hour drive to Gloucester. I had fun, that is, during the times when I wasn't puking my guts out. The patch that one of the MDs gave me was ineffective in being an anodyne for motion sickness. Fortunately, I was able to take a lot of pictures before I became too sea-sick to move. I'll post the pics in my website sometime, but here is me doing half-assed fishing while battling with nausea and hebetude. I didn't catch anything.

Here's what made the peregrination worthwhile. A heaping plate of Captain's combo platter of fried goodies. My co-workers were impressed by my ability to wolf it all down. But, hey, I was rapacious with hunger, seeing that my breakfast was fish food in the middle of the ocean. My pride, however, was still in the bottom of the Atlantic.
